CTSAH Letter to the CC Times
The weather outside is frightful, and everyone has just about had enough of the snow and freezing temperatures. Well, we have the perfect cure to chase your winter blues away. We’re bringing the heat to Co-op City on Saturday, March 8th. It’s a Mardi Gras Dance!!!
Come one, come all to celebrate Mardi Gras in style at 177 Dreiser Loop- Dreiser Center Auditorium C, from 9PM to 2AM. We’re throwing a huge party here in our very own backyard. Why fly to NOLA (New Orleans Louisiana) or Brazil when you can meet up with your friends and neighbors closer to home?
On behalf of the Coalition to Save Affordable Housing (CTSAH), we would like to invite you to join us to dance the night away to the music of renowned DJ O. Minaya who will be spinnin’ music from back in the days to today’s artists. D.J. O. Minaya was born and raised in the Bronx. Besides dee jaying weekly on the “Wendy Williams Show”, DJ O. Minaya can be heard on occasions on the West Coast on Rhythm 105.9fm, owns www.sikmixxradio.com internet radio and is on Thisis50.com. He is one of the most sought after elite and diverse club DJs in NYC and around the world; he breaks (introduces) records for recording artists, and has been doing so for over 15 years.
Did we mention that it’s a BYOBB affair? So you know what that means: more for me and more for you to enjoy!. We’ll have a best mask competition and door prizes. Set ups including ice will be available.

Dear Shareholder.
With your help and support, we can all look ahead towards improvements within our community. Our mission remains, “To improve cooperative spirit in our community guided by the principles and aims of the founders of the cooperative movement. We are women and men who advocate for affordable housing, and we plan to continually increase our effectiveness”.
Your help will fulfill the overall mission and provide fellowship and mutual encouragement to one another. We rely on the financial support of our shareholders to accomplish the cost of ongoing activities.
We would also appreciate your help in building our membership. If there’s a family member, friend or neighbor you know who would be interested in helping the Coalition strengthen in numbers, please ask them to join our efforts by inviting them to our next meeting.
If you are able to make a contribution, please send as soon as you can to insure that Coalition plans can go forward. We are confident that your participation will return a value well above the amount you are able to give.

NEW HCR RULES
The Board received copies of a letter dated 2/9/12 from HCR Assistant Commissioner Richmond McCurnin, promulgating policies changes in the governance at Riverbay.
Some of those changes are as follows:
Outgoing cooperators will be responsible for carrying charges on vacant units only up to 90 days rather than the expiration of their lease unless rented earlier.
Cooperators transferring to another unit will pay the current equity rate. The present practice has been to pay the same equity as they paid for apartments they relinquished.
The policy of transferring apartments “as is” is to be discontinued and the incoming cooperator must pay for any restoration and refurbishing.
Internal transfers will be given priority for three of every four available apartments.
